TV presenter Tyra Banks is launching a new competition and wants plus-sized teenagers to take part.

Banks, 36, said on a recent episode of The Tyra Show that she wants girls aged between 13 and 19 to take part.

The star also said to UsMagazine.com that she wants the teenagers to have a dress size of 12 to 20 and also be between 5′9 and 6′1 in height.

She said: “I want young girls to realize that what’s considered plus-sized is the average American woman.

“That woman is healthy, fit and beautiful. Adolescence is such an impressionable time in a young woman’s life, and I hope this contest helps teen girls discover their own beauty from the inside out.”

Supermodel Tyra Banks is ending her US talk show after five years.

The catwalk beauty has announced the next season of The Tyra Show will be the last.

She plans to focus on the launch of her film production company Bankable Studios.

Tyra told fans on her website: “This will be the last season of The Tyra Show.

“I’ve been loving having fun, coming into your living rooms, bedrooms, hair salons for the past five years.”

She added: “Your love and support is always felt by me and it’s given me the courage to take more exciting steps in my life. I thank you for that.”

The show’s most memorable moments have included Tyra revealing her real hair and donning a fat suit.

She revealed her production company’s projects will include movies and told fans: “My next huge steps will allow me to reach more women and young girls to help us all feel as fierce as we truly are.”

Tyra’s announcement comes after talk show queen Oprah Winfrey recent revelation she will end the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011.

The singer, probably due to lack of attention as is the case in many of these endeavors, has decided to put on a little surprise show for Halloween and start dressing up as reality TV “celebrities”. First on Tyra Banks’ list was Kim Kardishan and afterwards she did make quite a shock by dressing up as Kate Gosselin. The question now remains: who’s the third person? Who’s the third “monster” of the reality TV show industry in whose place Tyra Banks will be placing herself? In all respects given the media attention, it will probably be Jon Gosselin. Just wait and see…

Tyra Banks says she is definitely not engaged.

It was rumoured that the American media personality was going to get married to her boyfriend, businessman John Utendahl, after recently been spotted with a big ring on her finger in Los Angeles.

The former model, 35, wrote on Twitter: “Hearing about crazy rumours that I’m engaged. Well, I’m not.

“The ‘RING’ is my high school class ring. It’s 10k gold, and has zero diamonds. Ha!”

Season 5 of the talk show host’s programme, The Tyra Banks Show, premieres on September 8 in the US.

An “overzealous fan” has been ordered to attend an anti-stalking school after being convicted of harassing Tyra Banks.

New York Judge James Burke sentenced Brady Green, 39, to one-year probation for his hounding of the model turned talk-show host.

Green was ordered to stay away from Banks for two years and to attend a stalking-modification program at John Jay College called Project SHARP – short for Stopping Harassment and Relationship Problems.

The Georgia man thought he had a relationship with the outspoken model, and he tried to track her down in January 2008 with repeated phone calls to her show’s offices.

He later got the address and was arrested inside the studio, where he had sneaked in after twice being told to leave.

He was convicted of stalking earlier this year, with Banks as the star witness.

America’s Next Top Model host Tyra Banks will soon face the man accused of stalking her.

Banks, 35, will testify against Brady Green, 38, who is on trial for stalking and harassing her.

He had reportedly been following Banks since January 2008 and was arrested near the building where the star records The Tyra Banks Show in Manhattan.

Green reportedly told police, according to RadarOnline: “I know her. She knows me. We’re good friends.”

He then reportedly said he had come by bus from Los Angeles to see Banks.

Court papers reportedly quote Green as saying: “We had a thing together.”

He reportedly added: “I sent her flowers. I sent her cards. Should I plead no contest? I’ve got satellites watching me and recording us.”

Green is said to have pleaded not guilty to the charges of stalking, harassment and criminal trespass and could face up to 90 days in jail if he is convicted.
