Hollywood star George Clooney has been spotted buying lottery tickets – in an attempt to win money for Haiti.
According to reports, the actor and his girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis were spotted in an official Italian SuperEnalotto game shop this week.
They were reportedly seen buying dozens and dozens of tickets in the £117 million jackpot.
UK Star magazine claimed Clooney, who has a home in Lake Como, told pals: “The jackpot is so high, so why not try?”
The heartthrob, who recently fronted a telethon in the US that raised more than $50 million, apparently wants to spend the millions helping the earthquake victims in Haiti.
At the telethon event, he said: “This is a tragedy that reaches across all borders, all boundaries. It demands our attention, our help and our compassion. The Haitian people need help. They need to know that they are not alone. They need to see that we still care.”
