Australian actress Portia De Rossi has been named the hottest gay entertainer, while Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother fame was given the nod as top gay male.

The list was reated by gay-oriented cable channel Logo, which polled visitors to its afterelton.com and afterellen.com web sites, Sydney’s Daily Telegraph reports.

De Rossi and her wife Ellen DeGeneres recently topped a list of celebrities American mothers would trust most with their children, according to US reports.

Though childless, the couple ranked highest at 33% in the trusted parent poll of 10,000 people run by AOL.

They were followed by Jennifer Aniston (22%) and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (18%).

The actress recently revealed that she had previously attended law school before getting into acting. Portia de Rossi said: “I went to law school for a year thinking I was going to do that for a living before I went to acting. To think that career could have been my life is pretty shocking to me.” Portia de Rossi also commented on the character she plays in the upcoming movie “Better off Ted”: “You’re just trying to get ahead and be successful, but at the same time, if you’re working for a company like this, it’s so immoral. It doesn’t care about people, it doesn’t care about you, but you’re striving to achieve this great career.” Amazing, Portia de Rossi actually learned something from the movie she stared in. That’s a lot more than you can say about most actors these days. And moreover, she realized that being a successful lawyer implies being ruthless. Now if only she would start sharing this knowledge the world might become a better place.
