Salt actress Angelina Jolie said she surprised her kids when she dressed up as a man for the movie.

The 35 year-old plays a spy in the new film and her partner Brad Pitt often took their six children to the set while she was filming.

Jolie admitted she was dressed as a male naval officer for one scene and her son Maddox, eight, was shocked when he saw her.

Speaking to reporters while promoting the movie, she revealed that Maddox shook her hand without knowing who she was. She said: “And I said: ‘Honey, it’s mummy.’ I think I freaked him out.”

She said: “I play these roles, but I’m always in every minute their mum first. I’m a bit of a goofy. I’m funny at home, I think.”

Angelina Jolie believes that fidelity is over-rated.

“Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other. I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship,” she said.

The comments come after months of reports that the couple was on the outs. They have been seen in recent weeks, however, presenting a strong, united front.

She continued: “It’s worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards.”

The couple keeps a string of international residences and a flock of multi-national children that number six. She admitted: “The sparks fly at home if the nice Brad fails to see that he’s wrong and reacts in a defiant way. Then I can get so angry that I tear his shirt.

“We’re not violent enough for these things, and we consider our six children.”

Of the children, Maddox, eight, Pax, six, Zahara, four, Shiloh, three, and twins Knox and Vivienne, one, the last three are the couple’s biological kids.
