US President Barack Obama phoned shamed golfer Tiger Woods to offer his support, according to a magazine report.

Golf writer Jamie Diaz claims Obama, a keen golfer, reached out to Woods after his TV apology.

During the 14-minute apology, which was broadcast around the world, Woods apologised for his extramarital affairs and his subsequent behaviour.

It was the first time he has been seen in public since last November, when he was first linked to 12 mistresses.

Woods confessed to cheating on his wife and admitted he was being treated for sex addiction.

According to Diaz, Obama and former president Bill Clinton, himself no stranger to affairs, both then rang Tiger Woods.

Diaz has claimed Clinton’s own experience in dealing with the storms over his infidelities was said to be “particularly instructive”.

Woods’s mother, who is quoted in the article, is thought to be the source of the information about Obama’s call.

Eric Dane was upbeat and apparently unfazed by a sex tape of him naked with two women that surfaced on the Internet.

Dane, a Grey’s Anatomy star also known as “McSteamy”, was on set and in an “unusually good mood” the day after the mini scandal concerning himself, wife Rebecca Gayheart and former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche.

A source told radaronline in an exclusive: “Eric is in a great mood on set today. He’s been chatting on the phone non-stop, all smiles. Eric doesn’t seem to be worried at all.”

Blake, as well as 3 co-defendants, plead guilty last week but a court order barred reporting pleas until now. There’s still no word on his sentencing but it may be safe to assume that he will be getting off a bit easily for the time he already served. Blake was arrested back in November 2007 and has been awaiting trial in jail ever since. The Wino hubby faces a maximum of 5 years in jail for the assault charge. Perversion of justice has a maximum sentence of life but it’s unlikely to be imposed in this case.

50 Cent’s ex Shaniqua Tompkins doesn’t look like she’s going to stop ranting anytime soon as she is now saying to the NY Daily News that the rapper has yet to check on his 10-year old son since a fire pretty much destroyed the house where they live. Earlier in the week of the fire, Shaniqua’s new boyfriend who recently moved into the house got in an argument with 50’s posse at a lawyer’s office. Police found a 5-gallon gas container on the property shortly after the fire broke out. The fire remains under investigation. 50 denies any involvement in the fire and is not a suspect.

R Kelly’s defense were relying on a mole that was on the man in the video tape’s back that the singer supposedly didn’t have in order to save him from any charges. But on Thursday, the prosecutors in the case brought in a video forensics expert who found the mole. Said expert froze several frames of the tape where a dark spot was visible on the man’s back. The expert then showed a still photo taken of Kelly’s back after his arrest in 2002 which showed a dark fingernail-sized mole saying that it’s in the exact same position as the man’s on the tape. Kelly and his attorneys looked grim during the expert’s testimony. Someone’s going down!

It is being reported that the arrest warrant issued for Poison drummer Rikki Rockett stems from an incident that occurred on September 23, 2007 at a casino in Mississippi. Cops say that Rockett was staying at the Silver Star Hotel & Casino when he allegedly raped another female guest in his room. The victim did not file a report until several days later in Neshoba County. After determining that there was probable cause for the musician’s arrest, a warrant was issued. That warrant is still active which make’s him a wanted man. Rockett got busted at LAX last Monday night on the warrant but he was let go after law enforcement decided to not extradite him pending official charges from the Neshoba County DA.

Charges could be filed against Nicole Kidman and her bodyguard David Michael Garris. A video has come out that shows Garris pummeling a Flynet photog named Jeremy. He was upset because Jeremy had followed him and Nicole to a gym in Santa Monica, so he pulled over and punched Jeremy several times in the head.

The tape reveals that Jeremy screams as it happened. An ambulance was eventually called, and pictures show that Jeremy was bloody and bruised. The incident is under investigation.

The all-singing, all-dancing, all-swearing Spice Girls’ reunion truck ground to a halt last night.

Aaron Carter was arrested by police for drug possession midday Thursday. The former pop star was stopped by the cops for speeding in Kimble County, Texas when a subsequent search of his Cadillac Escalade turned up about two ounces (56.7 grams) of marijuana. He was then taken to a local jail in the town of Junction, where he stayed for the night as he waited for Friday morning for his arraignment. Honestly, I’m surprised it took him this long to get arrested. I would have placed my bets on him getting arrested sooner – before Lindsday Lohan even. He must do a lot of dodging.

Photographer Adnan Ghalib is alleged to have attacked two fellow snappers after they tried to snap him walking in Beverly Hills with two girls. Cops quizzed Ghalib, 35, and the alleged victim, who later tried to withdraw battery charges.

Earlier, Brummie Ghalib spent two hours with troubled Britney, 26, after her dad Jamie lifted a ban on his visits.

Meanwhile, Jamie has retained control of her affairs for three more weeks and has appointed his son, and Britney’s brother BRYAN, as the trustee of her estate. The move was confirmed during the latest conservatorship hearing, that also ordered Britney to undergo a 730 evaluation to aid her child custody battle.

It seems that Britney Spears’ latest hospitalization is not so sudden. It is being reported that the plan to get the pop wreck into UCLA Medical Center had been hatched for days but was aborted on Wednesday but then executed really early on Thursday morning. The original plan was so intricate that the FAA had cleared airspace en route to the hospital.

Britney’s psychiatrist did say that Britney was not hesitant to go to the hospital and even said that the singer made hot chocolate as she waited for paramedics to arrive. She will be staying at UCLA for 72-hours and cannot be forced to take meds against her will. If she refuses to do so however, her psychiatrist can go to court and have Brit held for an additional 14 days.

Scary Spice has always had a loud mouth – someone once compared it to that of a drunken trucker. And you have to give her credit for being a straight-talking, say it as she she’s it type of gal. But her recent outbursts are enough to terrify even the crudest, crotch-scratching fella, let alone the band’s young fans.

Just a day and a half after locking herself in a room with her son Jayden, Britney Spears is released from the hospital. Despite the fact that she was being held on a 5150 hold (meaning she was considered either a threat to others or herself), she was allowed to go.

Dr. Phil was on hand to counsel the family as she left. Her ex-husband Kevin Federline, who was given full custody of their two sons, was disappointed that she was let out so quickly. He, as well as many others close to her, feel that this was an opportunity to help the troubled singer.

She’s actually been seen going into hotels with this guy in recent weeks. His name is Adnan Ghalib, and he works for a photog agency called FinalPixx. He and Brit were seen checking into the Le Parker Meridien Hotel early Wednesday morning.

He won’t comment on what’s going on. He simply says Britney is “awesome” and that’s made up to $200,000 a year by following her and snapping pics. He goes on to say, “I think she’s a great person. It’s unfortunate that she’s the way she is, because of the people she surrounds herself with.”

Guess he’s on the other side of the camera now; Now he will know what it’s like to run from himself!
