Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen is to stand trial over a Christmas Day bust-up with his wife, according to reports.

The Two And A Half Men star reportedly entered a not guilty plea to menacing, third degree assault and criminal mischief during a court appearance today.

A three-day trial is scheduled to begin this year on 21 July.

Sheen, 44, arrived at court in Aspen, Colorado, flanked by his legal team and publicist and flashing peace signs to a crowd of reporters and photographers, according to reports.

He has been charged with domestic abuse following a row with wife Brooke Mueller on Christmas Day.

Mueller told the emergency services that he had threatened her and held a knife to her throat.

According to celebrity website TMZ.com, Sheen is considering taking a plea deal – but only if the charge level is dropped to a misdemeanor rather than a felony.

Prosecutors, however, allegedly want him to plead guilty to the felony charge or stand trial. They are not believed to be seeking jail time for the actor.

In 1997, Sheen pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery in a domestic violence case involving his then-girlfriend Brittany Ashland.

Hollywood actress Charlize Theron has said she finally feels ready to become a mum.

The 34-year-old has been with partner Stuart Townsend, 37, for nine years and said she would love to have a baby soon.

She said: “Damn right! I’m ready to go! I just know in my bones I want to be a mum.”

The actress plays a pregnant woman in new movie The Road.

Asked if she feels ready to get pregnant in real life, she added: “Yeah, yeah. I think I always wanted to.

“I have a great relationship with my mum and, from the earliest time I can remember, I always thought that I’d have children. But it’s not like it’s an obsessive thing.

“If it happened tomorrow, I’d be ecstatic. And if it didn’t, I’d be fine too. I’d be totally open to adopting or anything like that.

“But there’s definitely something in me that’s a little bit like: ‘Yeah. You could be a mum.’ Hopefully a good one.”

Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has revealed that she once did a mail-order degree to become a funeral director.

The 34-year-old beauty has starred in movies such as The Changeling, Mr & Mrs Smith and Tomb Raider and is currently shooting new flick Salt.

Asked about rumours that she once wanted to be a funeral director, she said to UK magazine Look: “[Laughs] Yeah. When I was younger, I went to a funeral, and I didn’t think it was enough of a celebration of the life of the person.

“I thought I could do better, so I got a home course when I was about 14. I did a mail-order degree.”

Another chapter has been added to the Lohan family saga — and this time, it may be another Lohan.

Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay, spoke Friday night with reporters gathered outside Hollywood’s Ritual Supper Club for a press conference concerning a woman’s recent claim that she had a daughter by him 13 years ago. Lohan was joined by his girlfriend Erin Muller at the event, which also served as a launch party for the online comedy series Wannabeme.tv, which co-stars Michael Lohan.

“If I wasn’t Lindsay’s dad or Michael Lohan, this wouldn’t be getting any attention,” he said.

Lohan said he once had a relationship with a woman named Kristi Horn and that he hadn’t seen her in 12 years. He said the two were seeing each other while he was separated from Dina Lohan, and the woman was going through a divorce. Lohan said he learned of the claim after receiving letters from the woman and photos of the girl purported to be his daughter when he was incarcerated.

“While I was prison, I got a letter, and she said that she had a paternity test with her ex-husband,” said Lohan, who has hired lawyers to look into the claim. “The results were negative with him, and she felt that I was the father. I said, ‘Well, why did you wait so long to tell me?’ She said there were a lot of things going on in her life.”

Lohan said he hasn’t spoken with Lindsay or any of his other three children about the incident. He said there was a resemblance in the photos of the girl to his daughters.

Access Hollywood is reporting that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are in fact engaged. Speculation first came about when the diva was spotted sporting a huge rock on the red carpet premiere of her movie at the Tribeca Film Festival. The 38-year old singer and the 27-year old actor were then spotted in each other’s arms at the after-party. I do not expose the “real” me to many people but continue the front that I have prepared since childhood. They are making many many mistakes starting with uprooting those children and moving them all around the world. Military families are not moved around every two months. I personally have chosen to remain in one place to benefit my own children despite the chronic “wander lust” I have from being moved around so many times. I want my children to have security and the experience of lifelong friends. In the name of good parenting they should stay in one place.
