George Clooney’s curvy ex-girlfriend Lisa Snowdon is backing a new size 14 fashion show to take a stand against skinny models.

Snowdon, 39, who was a model herself, was unable to do average fashion shoots when she was younger because of her curvy figure and instead had to model for campaigns including Special K and Mercedes.

Snowdon has praised Mark Fast’s new fashion show for creating modelling opportunities for curvier ladies.

She told UK newspaper the Daily Mail: “There were certain lines or seasons that just were not for me. I couldn’t wear them so there were a lot of jobs I could not go for because I am curvy.

“But now I think fashion is changing and Mark’s work is a great step forward. I’m all for the more voluptuous model.”

Sarah Jessica Parker may become a consultant for the prestigious Halston brand.

E! Online reports that when Parker wore a white Halston dress, the company was swamped with publicity.

A source told the website Parker may go further than endorsement to take an executive title with Halston, such as creative director and design director.

The new Sex And The City sequel shot in Manhattan features much Halston. A source said: “There’s quite a lot of vintage Halston in the movie.”

Parker, the mother-of-three and wife of Matthew Broderick, released her own line titled Bitten and has a thriving fragrance collection.

Salt actress Angelina Jolie is to end her run as the face of fashion house St John as the brand takes a different direction.

The 34-year-old star has been the face of the upmarket brand since 2006 and has appeared in several of their advertising campaigns.

However, its chief executive officer, Glenn McMahon, said that they are changing whom they use to front campaigns.

He said: “We wanted to make a clean break from actresses and steer away from blondes and cleanse the palette.”

Jolie will be replaced by Karen Elson and she will start off as the face of the brand in its spring campaign.

McMahon added: “We needed to show a modern point of view of St John. We have evolved.”

Kate Moss has slipped from second to sixth on the annual Best Dressed list for Harpers Bazaar magazine.

Fashion designer Stella McCartney topped the list for 2009, while actress Tilda Swinton came in second.

The Harpers Bazaar ranking is influential in the high-stakes fashion world.

Agyness Deyn moved up the list from eighth to seventh ranking. She took Moss’s Model of the Year title in 2008.

Gwyneth Paltrow, the Oscar-winning American actress based in London, slipped off the Harpers radar altogether when she fell from the top 20.

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has slammed octo-mum Nadya Suleman for splashing out on designer sunglasses.

The curvaceous beauty ripped into Suleman after spotting a photograph of her wearing Jimmy Choo shades identical to the ones she owns.

The Victoria’s Secret special will air on November 15 on CBS. That’s around the same time that the Spice Girls greatest hits album comes out. Perfect timing, no? What a great marketing strategy!
