Charlize Theron puts some steam into rumoured break-up at Mr Chow’s

Monday, February 8th, 2010

The rumoured split of Charlize Theron and Stuart Townsend gained a lot of steam over the weekend.

Theron, the leggy South African star, was snapped out at Mr Chow’s in Los Angeles with A-lister friends including host and rogue director Quentin Tarantino.

Townsend was Theron’s partner of nine years but the actress was always tight-lipped about their life together, while the Irish actor rarely appeared in public with her.

Theron looked to be sporting a new glow in photos that surfaced from the evening.

Townsend, the Daily Mail reports, was said to be devastated after Theron broke it off.

The actress was joined by Ray Liotta, Oliver Stone and Larry David for the £13,000 dinner, the newspaper said.

Sources said Theron and Townsend broke up after a trip to Mexico over Christmas. According to the Daily Mail: “[The] South African beauty is believed to have felt the romance had run its course and the pair had grown to be more like ‘brothers and sisters’.”

Charlize Theron finally feels ready to become mum

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Hollywood actress Charlize Theron has said she finally feels ready to become a mum.

The 34-year-old has been with partner Stuart Townsend, 37, for nine years and said she would love to have a baby soon.

She said: “Damn right! I’m ready to go! I just know in my bones I want to be a mum.”

The actress plays a pregnant woman in new movie The Road.

Asked if she feels ready to get pregnant in real life, she added: “Yeah, yeah. I think I always wanted to.

“I have a great relationship with my mum and, from the earliest time I can remember, I always thought that I’d have children. But it’s not like it’s an obsessive thing.

“If it happened tomorrow, I’d be ecstatic. And if it didn’t, I’d be fine too. I’d be totally open to adopting or anything like that.

“But there’s definitely something in me that’s a little bit like: ‘Yeah. You could be a mum.’ Hopefully a good one.”

Charlize Theron’s au naturel shopping trip with mum

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

Charlize Theron took time out to shop with her mother over the holidays.

The no-nonsense beauty did not bother to dress up or don make-up when she was spotted at Barneys in Los Angeles.

Theron, 34, and mum Gerda checked out shoes in a low-key visit, during which observers noted the Oscar winner’s serious demeanour.

Theron has expressed concern with the celebrity culture she believes is overtaking acting. She earlier said: “Somewhere along the line we forgot what actors do. All of a sudden, somehow, the fashion industry crept into the movie industry. Celebrity has really taken over and overshadowed what actors do. Actors aren’t supposed to be beautiful, actors are supposed to tell human stories, but that kind of got lost.”

Theron has a long-term partner who she keeps well out of the limelight. She was born in South Africa.

British actress Kate Beckinsale has been named the sexiest woman alive by Esquire magazine.

Beckinsale, 36, is “beautiful, crisp, smart, tough”, the men’s magazine states in paying its annual tribute to her, which was last year bestowed on Halle Berry.

Other celebs to previously be named sexiest woman include Charlize Theron and Scarlett Johansson.

Beckinsale may be best known for her part in the epic film Pearl Harbor, playing the tragic character of a navy nurse in love with two best friends, one of them played by a dazzling Ben Affleck.

Her parents were actors, though her father died at the age of 31 while she was a child. Beckinsale went to Oxford to study literature. She has lately appeared in Underworld, Van Helsing and with funnyman Adam Sandler in Click.

Charlize Theron’s marriage law views:

Monday, April 13th, 2009

The actress apparently doesn’t think that the current marriage laws are very appropriate. Charlize Theron shared her views on current marriage laws: “I don’t like living in an elitist world, it bothers me. I don’t want to be part of an elitist sexual preference. It bothers me, maybe it’s because I come from a country where I lived under apartheid but this is a form of apartheid and I don’t want to be a part of that.” Still, Charlize Theron doesn’t make her point very clear about what this elitist sexual preference is all about and also why marriage is a form of apartheid. Or is Charlize Theron just looking to impress the bunch with a few fancy words and an obscure concept?

Charlize Theron’s emotional nakedness

The actress recently had an interesting thing to say about conveying emotions in relation to on-screen nakedness. Here’s what Charlize Theron had to say: “Being naked is one of those things I think people think of in an isolated, compartmentalized way, but sometimes it’s harder to do a scene where you have to bear a raw emotion of pain or vulnerability. That kind of nakedness is sometimes much harder than taking your clothes off.” I thought actors were supposed to find it easy to simulate any emotion. Maybe Charlize Theron has a bit of history with emotions like that, otherwise they most likely wouldn’t mean much to her. How very empathic of her.

Charlize Theron’s dirty Spanish

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

The actress has recently boasted about the fact that she has learned a lot of naughty stuff to say in Spanish while shooting her new movie, “The Burning Plain”. Charlize Theron told the following story about how she learned the new words from the movie’s director, Guillermo Arriaga: “Of course he taught me some dirty stuff! He had a really good friend with him and I was kind of like this little messenger between them. Guillermo’s friend Adrian would be like, ‘Go to Guillermo and say, blah blah blah.’ I’d be the little person rushing over to Guillermo saying the words really loud, and half the crew understood.” For the sake of Charlize Theron’s dignity, thank God only half of the crew understood what she was saying. Still, you have to wonder, does she now at least understand all the stuff she said?

Charlize Theron settled the Million dollar lawsuit

Saturday, November 8th, 2008

If you become a celebrity, you have to be very watchful of what you wear in public.

The sexy and spicy actress Charlize Theron has recently settled a US$20 million lawsuit against her.

Her ‘crime’ was that she forgot to wear a Swiss watchmaker Raymond Weil’s wrist watch in a public appearance and instead sported a Christian Dior watch during a press event in 2006.

The lawsuit was filed in 2007 by Raymond Weil because they had paid a huge amount of money to the hottie to exclusively wear their watches.

What a pity that she had to pay US$20 million for just wearing a watch by mistake!!!

It is definitely tough to become a celebrity. Isn’t it???

Janet Jackson says she doesn’t need a piece of paper to be committed

Monday, October 8th, 2007

Janet Jackson and longtime boyfriend Jermaine Dupri have jumped on the Charlize Theron/Stuart Townsend “We don’t need to have a ceremony to be committed” bandwagon. Janet says that, after two failed marriages – one of which she kept secret until she filed for divorce. I like that people are more open to alternative definitions of committed relationships. It may not work in every circumstance, but every relationship is different. I think it more like we have got to break the shackles that exist in our minds on celebrity relationships, they are us unpredictable as may be what the next step your 4 month old baby is going to take, he might surprise you and might make you cry as well. The best thing is never to except something in line with what’s going on in a major way, they have their own world that’s quite different from ours and they live it on their terms, we can just hope they do the sensible stuff rather than the wild stuff.
