Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have hit back at rumours they have split – by attending an awards ceremony together.

The pair proved they are still very much a couple by showing up for the Director’s Guild of America Awards in Los Angeles.

They declined to be photographed together on the red carpet when they arrived but according to several reports they were seen being “extremely affectionate” with each other during the awards show.

They sat next to each other at the table and were spotted laughing and whispering to each other.

An onlooker at the Awards said the couple were incredibly affectionate throughout the four-hour event.

The guest told People magazine: “They looked very giggly. They look like they are having a fun time. It’s definitely a date.

“They were extremely affectionate.”

Pitt had been invited to the ceremony to present his Inglourious Basterds director Quentin Tarantino with a plaque for being nominated for the Outstanding Directional Achievement in Feature Film, which was actually won by James Cameron’s ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow for the movie The Hurt Locker.

This was Brad and Angelina’s first public outing since it was reported they had split and had consulted lawyers over custody of their six children and dividing their £205million ($327million) fortune.

The report was immediately slammed as false by sources close to the couple but the DGA Awards was the first time they had stepped out to end the speculation themselves.

Movie superstar Brad Pitt was noticeably absent as his film Inglourious Basterds won at the SAG Awards amid reports he is splitting up with Angelina Jolie.

The Hollywood hunk missed out on the celebrations as his co-stars in the hit war film picked up the award for Outstanding Cast of a Motion Picture on Saturday night.

It came as a UK tabloid reported Pitt and Jolie have seen divorce lawyers and signed a £205 million split deal.

The world’s most famous couple are said to have secretly signed legal papers agreeing to divide their huge fortune and share their six children.

Pitt was in LA for the Hope For Haiti Now telethon on Friday night – but there was no sign of him at the SAG Awards, which he has attended with Jolie in the past.

Director Quentin Tarantino and other cast members including Eli Roth, Diane Kruger and Christoph Waltz were present to receive the award from Pitt’s close pal George Clooney.

No explanation was given for Pitt’s absence in the live televised show.

The UK tabloid reports the Brangelina couple will announce their separation soon to end months of speculation their five-year relationship is on the rocks.

They are said to have started planning a split in December, when they reportedly visited a top LA divorce firm.

Johnny Depp has topped GQ’s 25 Most Stylish Men in the World list, beating David Beckham, Russell Brand, Pete Doherty and five other Brits to the title.

The 46-year-old actor – who appears on the front cover of the February issue – was praised for de-mystifying “the icon of eccentric cool”.

“Johnny Depp’s a unicorn – a really glamorous, one-of-a-kind eccentric,” says Simon Doonan, the creative director of US store Barney’s.

UK-born Doonan adds: “He doesn’t shy away from colour. He’s always peeking through his amazing hair. It doesn’t matter if Johnny Depp’s lying in a ditch – he’s always going to look incredible.”

Russell Brand, 34, is one of eight Brits celebrated in the US edition of GQ.

Rockers Pete Doherty, former Clash bassist Paul Simonon and Talking Heads frontman David Byrne make it eight.

US talent such as rappers Andre Benjamin, Pharrell Williams and Jay-Z also made the list along with Clint Eastwood, Brad Pitt and American football player Tom Brady.

Angelina Jolie believes that fidelity is over-rated.

“Neither Brad nor I have ever claimed that living together means to be chained together. We make sure that we never restrict each other. I doubt that fidelity is absolutely essential for a relationship,” she said.

The comments come after months of reports that the couple was on the outs. They have been seen in recent weeks, however, presenting a strong, united front.

She continued: “It’s worse to leave your partner and talk badly about him afterwards.”

The couple keeps a string of international residences and a flock of multi-national children that number six. She admitted: “The sparks fly at home if the nice Brad fails to see that he’s wrong and reacts in a defiant way. Then I can get so angry that I tear his shirt.

“We’re not violent enough for these things, and we consider our six children.”

Of the children, Maddox, eight, Pax, six, Zahara, four, Shiloh, three, and twins Knox and Vivienne, one, the last three are the couple’s biological kids.

The Pirates of The Caribbean star landed the annual title from People magazine – for the second time in his life.

Johnny, 46, nudged out previous winner Hugh Jackman to the award. He also won in 2003.

Kate Coyne, senior editor at People, said that Depp has achieved an almost “iconic status in terms of sexiness”.

She told a US TV show: “Johnny Depp is someone who was sexy 10 years ago. He’ll be sexy 10 years from now. He’s someone who appeals to multiple generations of women.”

Depp joins other double-winners Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Richard Gere.

Superstars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have made the top 10 of Vanity Fair’s Establishment List.

The famous couple feature at number eight in the Vanity Fair New Establishment List, which names some of the most influential people in society and pop culture.

Pitt, 45, and Jolie, 34, are part of a 100-long list, which also features stars such as Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Oprah and global media mogul Rupert Murdoch.

Vanity Fair states: “The tabloid-haunted, globe-trotting couple reminded us that they both can really act with Pitt’s Oscar-nominated performance in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Jolie’s in Clint Eastwood’s Changeling.

“The couple’s foundation donated $1 million to the United Nations to help the hundreds of thousands of refugees from violence in Pakistan and Afghanistan.”

Brad Pitt not called in for Sherlock Holmes – studio

Brad Pitt is not reuniting with director Guy Ritchie to make Sherlock Holmes, according to Warner Bros.

Pitt was earlier reported to be arriving in London to take up the role of Moriarty, nemesis to the famous and much-loved British detective.

But Warner Bros., which is making the movie, disputed the claim in a statement to a magazine.

A studio representative said: “The report in today’s London Mirror is completely inaccurate. Brad Pitt is not joining the cast of Sherlock Holmes and we’re extremely pleased with the production of the film.”

The earlier report claimed Ritchie didn’t like the look of the movie, which co-stars Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr, and that he called in Pitt for an 11th-hour rescue.

But the rep said plans for its release will go ahead. “As planned, it will be released on Christmas Day 2009. In order to complete the movie, we’ve scheduled a few days on set to shoot a couple of additional scenes, obtain pick-up shots, and perfect some of the visual effects elements, all of which is standard film-making practice.”

The Inglourious Basterds star appears in a new pictorial in the magazine for tech fans and his tongue-in-cheek advice to readers is dotted throughout the 16-page spread.

Pitt’s snippets are written in the style of agony aunt columns called ‘Ask a Basterd’.

When asked if it’s OK to post a picture of your wife’s backside on Twitter – à la Ashton Kutcher – the 45-year-old father of six says: “Don’t take a picture of your wife’s butt. That’s silly.”

Pitt also has interesting ideas on watching online pornography at work.

Asked if it’s OK to look at X-rated pictures at work, the actor says: “Don’t just look at it at work, bring in your old porn mags and scan them there!

The hilarious advice accompanies photos of the actor doing everything from rocking out on a bass guitar to apparently sending a text while taking a pee.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will rent a sprawling country estate in New York owned by Rupert Murdoch, it was reported.

The Rosehearty estate is located on Centre Island, and has been put back on the market for $12.8 million by Murdoch and his wife Wendi Deng.

Pitt and Jolie are lined up to rent the property for more than $100,000 per month in summer while their own property Sassafras, the 40-acre estate they own in Lloyd Harbor, undergoes renovations. While the move was first reported in April, it was confirmed this month.

Rosehearty is a traditional Federal-style family home built in 1885 that has 11 bedrooms and sits on a sunny incline. Its lawns roll down into Oyster Bay Harbor.

Numerous sightings of the couple were reported around the area earlier this year. But Centre Island Mayor Jack Williams instilled calm into the frenzy. “I haven’t seen them and as far as I know none of our police officers have seen them.”

Hollywood’s new leading hunk Javier Bardem is now set to romance veteran Julia Roberts in her latest film, it has been reported.

After seducing both Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson’s characters in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, the Spanish actor will now have an on-screen affair with the Oscar-winning actress.

He is in negotiations to join her in Eat, Pray, Love, a big screen adaptation of US author Elizabeth Gilbert’s bestselling memoirs.

Roberts plays Gilbert while Bardem looks set to play Felipe, the man she falls in love with at the end of a journey of self-discovery that begins with the end of her marriage.

The film will also star Oscar-nominated actor Richard Jenkins and will be produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B outfit.

Loved-up actor Brad Pitt has gushed about his family and admitted they might have another baby in London.

Pitt, 45, is married to Angelina Jolie, 33, and the couple have six children altogether, including three that were adopted from Ethiopia, Cambodia and Vietnam.

He said: “I am in love and I have the most beautiful family – what else can a guy want? I am the happiest man ever. My daughter from Africa is beautiful. We’re so lucky to have her and to have children from around the world. They’re all fantastic and we would love another. Who knows, maybe we’ll have one in London. I’d like that.”

Australian actress Portia De Rossi has been named the hottest gay entertainer, while Neil Patrick Harris of How I Met Your Mother fame was given the nod as top gay male.

The list was reated by gay-oriented cable channel Logo, which polled visitors to its afterelton.com and afterellen.com web sites, Sydney’s Daily Telegraph reports.

De Rossi and her wife Ellen DeGeneres recently topped a list of celebrities American mothers would trust most with their children, according to US reports.

Though childless, the couple ranked highest at 33% in the trusted parent poll of 10,000 people run by AOL.

They were followed by Jennifer Aniston (22%) and Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt (18%).

The “Ocean’s Eleven” co-stars Brad Pitt and George Clooney attended the 2008 Venice Film Festival premiere of “Burn After Reading” together in tuxedos.

The directors Ethan and Joel Coen, and the fellow stars Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton were also present on the occasion.
“Burn After Reading” will be screened in theatres on 12th September 2008 and it were only a handful of blessed viewers who got a chance to witness the film before its world wide release.

Angelina Jolie has confirmed rumours – and what we all already knew to be true anyway – she is pregnant.

The stunning actress unveiled her baby bump at the 2008 Spirit Awards in Santa Monica by wearing a tight-fitting black dress. Angelina has kept us all guessing since news of her pregnancy was first reported, donning loose-fitting dresses at many of her recent public appearances and staying away from alcohol.

I have learned to adapt and I have learned to hide my emotions behind a smile and to be brave. As an adult I mourn the loss of childhood friends. I do not expose the “real” me to many people but continue the front that I have prepared since childhood. They are making many many mistakes starting with uprooting those children and moving them all around the world. Military families are not moved around every two months. I personally have chosen to remain in one place to benefit my own children despite the chronic “wander lust” I have from being moved around so many times. I want my children to have security and the experience of lifelong friends. In the name of good parenting they should stay in one place.

For some reason Angelina Jolie spoke recently about her sexual past and the sacrifices she has made now that she is with Brad Pitt. She readily admits to bisexual relationships in the past. She had a ten year relationship with model Jenny Shimizu. She also confesses to participating in S&M play and even experimenting with knives during sex. She says that her relationship with Brad Pitt has tamed her and that she can no longer explore those avenues. She stated that since she’s been with him there is no longer a place for that stuff in her life. It sounds more like she has given it up because he doesn’t accept it, not because she wanted to. This is a couple that is bound to self destruct. Two control freaks in a relationship rarely works out. Or so it appears. On a trip to Marineland in Antibes, France, Maddox, Pax and Angelina were given the chance to feed the killer whales. However, Maddox stood behind a wall that is a distance behind little brother Pax and Angelina.

Pax didn’t seem to mind handling the fish and feeding it to the hungry whale as Angelina coaxes him on. Maddox looks like he’s hoping that his brother won’t get eaten. That or he’s wishing that hunky poppa Brad is around to hold his hand.

Aww. Don’t worry Maddox. Even if you appear like a scaredy cat, I think you’re still cute and loveable. Keep sticking you’re tongue out to the paps kid. No one will care about this after that.

Angelina Jolie, Honorary Board Chair of Global Action for Children (GAC), applauded President Bush’s increase for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) funding, but cautioned that there is more work to be done. The President called on Congress today to provide $30 billion in funding for the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief, including care for OVC, over a five year period after the President leaves office. This doubles the current funding of $15 billion over five years which expires in 2008. Between saving orphans, her UN work and her A-list film career Angelina also takes time to be with Brad Pitt at events like the Cannes Film Festival. We really appreciate her dedication to the various fields that she is involved in and is really good at all that she does. Surely in the next few years her work will bring her international acclaim and also possibly a few international awards recognizing her contribution to child welfare and AIDS awareness and helping the needy.
