Ben Stiller made sure the Film Independent Spirit Awards ended with a bang – by bringing “porn stars” on stage to simulate sex while he handed out the last gong.

The Tropic Thunder star had a surprise for the celebrity-packed audience in LA as he prepared to present the Best Feature award. He called two curvy beauties and a lucky fella in leopard-skin underpants to join him on stage at the LA ceremony while he announced the nominees.

Stiller joked the saucy antics would boost ratings for the Friday night live show because channel-surfing viewers would be looking for porn at such a late hour.

Stiller introduced the “porn stars” by saying: “It’s being broadcast live, it’s going long and we are late. It’s about 1.15am on the east coast. One thing is clear – anyone channel surfing at this hour is looking for porn. So in order to maximize the ratings for tonight’s final award, we have some porn stars being as sexy as they can be.”

Stiller introduced two of the “porn stars” as Maggie Jizz-and-balls and Philip Semen Hoffman as Maggie Gyllenhaal and Philip Seymour Hoffman laughed along with the rest of the celebrity-packed audience.

This year’s Golden Globe is a time for remembering not just the past winners in the acting arena but the worst-dressers over the years. The list is topped by Courtney Love who came in tattered shimmering black gown couple with a loser’s expression in 2000. Her fashion blooper was matched by Sharon Stone in 2003 when she came to the Awards wearing a similar looking tattered black dress but with an added tattered hairdo. Lara Flynn Boyle was not as austere in 2003 but still a fashion disaster when she came in a pink ballet costume complete with pink leotards and ballet shoes–could this be her childhood frustration? I have always thought that Cate Blanchett could never go wrong fashion-wise but she did in 2002 when she came to the Awards wearing a black kimono-like outfit or was that a Chinese costume?

Even Sex In The City fashionista Sarah Jessica Parker committed a fashion booboo in 2003 with her too safe all black pantsuit. In 2007, Vanessa Williams made an appearance with her big hair boring look. American Idol’s Paula Abdul did not look much of an Idol when she came in the 2005 Golden Globe ceremony wearing a frilly orange-yellow-gold outfit with matching pointed shoes and pointed tube. But no one can beat Beyonce Knowles in 2003 when she came looking like she was several years late for her debut.

Jordin Sparks was at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards to present an award but did so much more than that. The 18-year old American Idol champ spoke out against host Russell Brand for making jokes about the Jonas Brothers and their purity rings. She told the crowd “I just have one thing to say about promise rings. It’s not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody – guy or girl – wants to be a slut.” Way to stand up for others! Some people just don’t know what’s alright to joke about and what needs to be taken seriously.

Did you feel the heat in the MTV Video Music Awards 2008?

Some of the celebrities including Jordin Spikes thought that the VMA were too racy, however some others thought them to be simply sexy.

One of the most-decent and ever-smiling stars to join the music scene is the gorgeous Taylor Swift.

She also thought that the ceremony was having “Too much sex”. She expressed her views as, “I think that there was a little too much sex being talked about instead of music. But I think Russell Brand is a great comedian and he’s funny. I think that the Jonas Brothers are the most professional people in the music industry — they laugh at themselves and know how to have fun regardless of whether they are being picked on throughout the entire show.”

Is her feelings right for the awards ceremony?

Well we knew that next years’ Brits are likely to be highly interesting after the announcement that the presenters are none other than Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne. I think it was the hope that there was bound to be an event or two to spice up the press coverage that did it.

Well now it’s going to be a right family affair. Not only has Kelly Osbourne; daughter of the infamous couple, signed up to present the nomination show on 14th January; ITV2 are attempting to get potty mouthed brother Jack in on the act to present the backstage show.

The February show will be the second to be filmed entirely live…but I have been told there will be a 5 second delay to bleep out any bad language. Surprise surprise.
