Dario Franchitti (better known as Ashley Judd’s husband) recently won the 91st edition of the Indy 500. He declared:

“The ups and downs throughout the day – what can I say? I’m in shock right now – it’s been a rollercoaster month, and it was a rollercoaster day. I can hardly believe it. Who would have thought it?”

It sure was a rollercoaster day as rain was heavy and racing conditions hard. Officials had to stop the rain after 415 of the 500 miles and this turned out to be great for Dario Franchitti as he had the biggest win of his career and the second one his team had in almost three years. Maybe now people will see the driver as more than he is, not just the husband of a well-known celebrity.

Charles Nelson Rielly died at the age of 76. He had a pretty successful career, winning the Tony Award and getting known by the public thanks to his appearances on the “Tonight Show”. Rielly developed pneumonia and had complications that led to his death.
Nelson was a clear example of an individual that succeeded through hard work. His career started in New York, where he took acting classes and eventually appeared on Broadway in 1962. That was when he won the Tony Award and was nominated again for it in 1997. His career then moved from Broadway to Hollywood and he was featured on “The Dean Martin Show”. The end of his acting career started when he started being the host of several game shows. May he rest in peace.

Specialists awaited eagerly the clash between “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” and “Spiderman 3”. Most thought that Johnny Depp’s Sparrow will defeat Tobey’s friendly neighborhood Spiderman but that was not the case. Pirates pulled in around $126.5 million over the weekend in USA but fell short of Spidey’s weekend record of $151 million.
On the other hand Disney predicted that their movie will have a huge global opening that should surpass Spiderman 3 (it had $381.7 million). The problem here stands directly in movie length. “Pirates” is over three hours long and this means that the number of showings had to be less than Spidey. I did not get to see Johnny Depp’s latest movie but did see Spiderman and I loved it. I am sure I will love Pirates as well so I am really curious which one will be more popular.

The so called rich and famous celebrities are used to spending millions at the private functions, so when British beauty Liz Hurley wed millionaire business man Arun Nayar the two spent a staggering £2 million on her nuptials. But what has become a talking point is that Elizabeth Hurley hasn’t paid vicar his £800 fee for conducting her wedding at Sudeley Castle in Winchcombe, Gloucestershire, in March. Reverend John Partington, the vicar who conducted the ceremony, is still waiting for her to pay him his fee. Morris Davies, a retired postman, told the Daily mail: “She is a celebrity, I am sure that they think they don’t have to fork out for anything. But a lot of the locals are not very happy about her not paying the most important person in the ceremony – The vicar.” Spending 2 million pounds is a throw away but paying a vicar 800 pounds is like she is doing him a favor. Is it a crazy way of remaining the news after she had an apparel modeling contract cancelled.

Actor Jessica Alba says her looks can be deceiving and that she is actually a drok. She also goes on to say that she finds it really funny that people think of her as a sexy looking gal, but instead she is really goofy-like, super goofy kinda. Also she cannot figure out why people go nuts at her butts. But have one look at the girl and surely you will not be able to take your eyes of her. She got the curves and the oomph’s in her body language! She confesses that she is a wee bit rebellious in nature, actually she kind of like to give a no for a yes and a yes for a no. Well these are the kinda star tantrums that we all are so used to seeing. The get paid a lot and then they have the power of fame and money. Both combined just gives them the added security of not having to be answerable to parents back home because they are earning.

Johnny Depp’s greatest film role is Captain Jack Sparrow.
The swashbuckling pirate was overwhelmingly declared the actor’s best role by fans.
Sparrow, the central character in the massively successful ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise, received 57 per cent of the votes, well ahead of Depp’s portrayal of Edward Scissorhands, which garnered 17 per cent.
Depp’s pirate performance has been credited with fueling the success of the first two ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ movies, which together took more than $1.5 billion worldwide.
The third film, ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End’, is set for release later this summer.
The 43-year-old actor based his portrayal of Sparrow on Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Wood, who plays his father in the eagerly anticipated third installment.
Movie bosses were initially said to have been worried about Depp’s offbeat interpretation of Sparrow, but the risk paid off when his performance earned him an Oscar nomination.
He became the first actor from a Disney film to be recognized by the prestigious movie awards.
The actor’s performance as Willy Wonka in 2005’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ was named his third best, while his portrayal as Constable Ichabod Crane in ‘Sleepy Hollow’ was fourth.
This is really Depp’s best role. He is fascinating as Jack Sparrow and everybody likes him from little kids to grown ups.
The actor has said in an interview that he first took part in the movie because he wanted to act in movies which his children can watch and this was maybe his best decision ever.

Shrek the Third is gonna be another hit as this third installment of Shrek goes to big screen. Shrek fans will definitely get more laughs from the green guy or ogre. I bet its three times the fun and three times hilarious. Together with his cast Princess Fiona, Donkey and Puss in Boots, as they journey to a new adventure. Characters a given from the voices of Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona, Mike Myers as Shrek, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, Antonio Banderas as Puss ‘n Boots, and the newest addition Justin Timberlake as the voice of Artie. This movie are not for kids only but also for the young at heart.

Former “Prison Break” actor Lane Garrison pleaded guilty Monday to vehicular manslaughter and drunken driving in a crash last year that killed a teenage passenger.
Garrison, 26, faces up to six years and eight months in prison when he is sentenced in August. He remains free on $100,000 bail.
He was driving a 2001 Land Rover on Dec. 2nd when he lost control and rammed a tree. The crash killed Vahagn Setian, 17, a Beverly Hills High School student. Two other passengers, both 15-year-old girls, survived.
Setian’s family said in a statement that they support the prosecution recommendation that Garrison serve time in state prison.
Garrison had a blood-alcohol content of .20 percent, more than twice the legal limit for driving, and was under the influence of cocaine, according to police.
He pleaded guilty in Los Angeles County Superior Court to one count of vehicular manslaughter without gross negligence, one count of driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level of .15 or higher and a misdemeanor of providing alcohol to a minor.
Judge Elden Fox earlier ordered Garrison not to drive a vehicle, drink alcohol, go to bars or contact witnesses or victims of the fatal crash.
The actor’s attorney, Harland Braun, said earlier that Garrison was “going to accept responsibility for his conduct. The only question is what is that level of responsibility?”
Garrison played David “Tweener” Apolskis in Fox network’s “Prison Break.” His character was killed in the Oct. 2 episode.
The Dallas native’s other credits include the 2006 film “Crazy” and an episode of the short-lived 2005 ABC series “Night Stalker.”

Actor Sylvester Stallone was formally convicted Monday of importing restricted muscle-building hormones into Australia and ordered to pay $10,651 in fines and court costs.
The actor who is very well known for his good shape and big muscles failed to show he had a valid prescription for dozens of vials of human growth hormone found in his luggage when he arrived in Sydney for a promotional tour in February.
Stallone had also failed to declare the male hormone testosterone on a customs entry form, although prosecutors said he had legitimate medical reasons for carrying the drug.
New South Wales State Deputy Chief Magistrate Paul Cloran fined Stallone, who was not present at the court and had previously pleaded guilty a total of  $2,451 on both charges and ordered him to pay prosecution costs of $8,200.
The case and the negative publicity surrounding was enough to send a clear message that such a behavior wouldn’t be tolerated and it doesn’t matter how famous one is to be fined for breaking the law.
“I don’t think there is anything further the court could or should do in order to deter Mr. Stallone from committing these offenses again”, Cloran said.
He said he was satisfied the human growth hormone and testosterone were for Stallone’s personal use, and that “there is no suggestion that the substances were being used for anything other than cosmetic or therapeutic purposes.”
Stallone was charged after a customs search of his luggage at the start of a three-day visit to Sydney in February revealed 48 vials of the human growth hormone drug, Jintropin.
Cloran said Jintropin is not legally available for sale in the United States, and found that Stallone had been “untruthful about the existence of a prescription.”
In a letter to the court in which he apologized for a “terrible mistake,” Stallone, 60, said he had taken the drugs for years to treat a medical condition that he didn’t disclose.
A senior official with the Australian Customs Service, Robert Janeczko, welcomed the decision.:”I think it’s a good outcome. The two criminal convictions show that whether your name is Smith or Stallone you can’t bring prohibited imports into this country,” he said.

As you might already have found out, Jessica Alba placed number 2 on this year’s “Hot 100” Maxim magazine list but what she claims is that she is not only a pretty babe but has a wild side as well. This is seen in challenging authority and it seems like the “Hot 100” actress is into that. She declared in an interview for InStyle that:

“I love challenging authority. It probably wasn’t easy being my parents. The second somebody says ‘no’ to me is the second I’m going to jump up and say ‘yes’!”

In recent news we can also see that Jessica Alba will star in the second part of the “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer”, due to release on June 15.

Former Creed frontman Scott Stapp was arrested on Sunday after being charged with assault in connection to domestic violence. The alleged victim is still unknown and absolutely no information has been released for press. Paul Miller, a Sheriff’s Office spokesman declared:

“We don’t know exactly what occurred here”

This statement says a lot but still Stapp was arrested. The man that built fame alongside Creed, selling more than 25 million albums as a part of this band, went solo some time ago. Just when his career was about to re-start this happens and we do not really know anything except what is written above. Let’s just wait and see!

You probably already know that Sir Paul McCartney is currently in the midst of a divorce but you might have not heard that the much awaited world tour is cancelled until all is over. Much debate has been taking place in the past as to where, when, how the tour will look like but fans will now be disappointed. His new album, “Memory Almost Full” will not be supported with a world tour. Paul McCartney said in an interview for Sunday Mirror that:
“I’m going to do bits and pieces to support the album, but it won’t be a major tour until possibly next year, and that’s down to personal circumstances”
On the other hand the good news is that the album will still be released on the 4th of June. There will be some small shows but nothing to the extent expected. Paul’s last world tour was in 2005 and 2007 will be just another year without one!

Lindsay Lohan gets sued by a photographer. The photographer claims that Lindsay ran into him in a BMW. Is it a paparazzi? Could be. That is what dedicated photographers get for taking pictures of their favorite subject. The stars! Some get punched, kicked, and ran over by cars of popular celebrities just to get that perfect shot. Usually when celebrities get so pissed by those flashing cameras and playing hide and seek they got nothing else to do but just explode. Lohan’s case is no different. Being one of the most photographed stars in the world is no easy job. And when things goes overboard things could get nasty. As nasty as getting ran over by a million dollar car. The price you pay for all the fame and fortune you get.

Pete Doherty (Babyshambles lead singer) is no stranger to controversy and his actions are not really popular although devoted fan numbers rise every month or so. Now he brings something new to the table, something that is an innovation in art. I think you understood the irony in what I said and the event I am talking about is an exhibition of some of the singer’s collection of his very own artworks, painted in his own BLOOD.
The event started on the 15th but was not really publicized enough (Wonder why?). The “show” features 14 original paintings that Doherty did using his own blood of course together with pencil and pen. Of course you can also buy his art pieces and you can even purchase a special, ultimate piece of Pete Doherty memorabilia: prints of some of his work signed in his own blood. The price for this is $5,000 and might even go up. It is becoming expensive to be a fan these days.

Under the principle “everything eventually turns out fine or at least half bad for Paris Hilton” the hotel heiress might escape half of her jail sentence. For those of you that do not know she was sentenced to 45 days after driving with a suspended license last week. Now we find out that she might only do half of the penalty because the prison is overcrowded. This makes Paris Hilton eligible for a federal mandate that makes it possible for people serving over 11 days in jail to get out early if they behave. In the same way “Lost” superstar Michelle Rodriguez got out after hours after being sentenced to 60 days in jail for a similar offense last year.

On this same topic there is also another funny event that happened. A “Save Paris” rally was held in Greenwich Village New York but it was really a huge flop as only three people showed up. Is Paris Hilton’s popularity finally dropping? Probably not! Another getting drunk in clubs session and she will be back on top especially if paparazzi get a good picture of her with some alcohol or a little nude slip or something similar.

An employment tribunal ruled Thursday that Sting and his wife, Trudie Styler, discriminated against their chef by firing her after she became pregnant.
The couple, who face having to make a substantial compensation payment, said they were “devastated” by the ruling. The level of compensation will be decided at a June 8 hearing.
Jane Martin, 41, said she had worked for the 55-year-old pop star and Styler for eight years, cooking meals for them and guests including Madonna and Elton John. She said Styler grew unhappy after Martin became pregnant in 2005, making her work long hours and growing angry when she took time off work because of illness.
Martin, who accused Styler of having a “grandiose ego,” left her job under disputed circumstances in April 2006.
In its ruling, the panel at an employment tribunal in Southampton, southern England, said Martin had been unlawfully dismissed by Lake House Estate, Sting and Styler’s management company, and was a victim of sexual discrimination.
The judgment said that although Styler “had tried to distance herself from various unlawful acts and have them carried out by minions on her behalf, when the evidence is looked at holistically, her involvement is clear.”
Styler said the couple planned to appeal.
“I am devastated that the tribunal’s judgment makes this unjust and unfair attack on Sting and me.” she said in a statement. “Jane Martin was always treated well and generously as an employee, and we remain stunned at her actions and at the verdict of the tribunal.”

he’s been dead for weeks, but Howard K. still wants a piece of the pie.  He’s just petitioned to be executor of her estate, and can you blame him?  There has got to be some serious cash in it for him if he can figure out a way to get his name in the documents.  Her current assets are around $710k, but that doesn’t include whatever she might receive when her court cases finally conclude.

This is such another attempt of a weasel trying to get at her money.  He tried to get her money when she was alive, he couldn’t do it, so killed her, and now wants the cash after her death.  Honestly, it’s time to lock the guy up.

Britney Spears’ friends and family are worried about her sudden weight loss. The singer has stunned critics by flaunting a washboard stomach and toned legs just weeks after being photographed eating junk food and sporting a flabby waistline. Her new figure has sparked concern she is losing weight too quickly. A source told More magazine: “She loves her new shape. But no one wants to see her looking as thin as Nicole Richie. Her mum is worried she could be doing it too quickly.” Britney, 25, failed to shed the post-pregnancy weight after giving birth to her sons, Sean Preston, who turns two in September, and eight-month-old Jayden James. Britney is now working out with a personal trainer and taking regular dance classes. She has also ditched calorific treats for a low fat diet. The source added: “She’s eating lots of vegetables, fruits, grilled chicken for lunch and sushi for dinner. She does allow a cheat day once or twice a week.”

The supermodel was guest of honor at the exclusive bash, celebrating her clothing line going on sale in the famous store.
Kate’s range for the popular British high street chain has already been a hit in the UK, after coming out last week. As in the UK, Barneys paid tribute to the style icon’s designs by dedicating all their window displays to her collection.
Fashion expert and party guest Maria Ioannou said: “We have always been fascinated by the seemingly effortless British sense of style. And when it comes to Kate Moss, what’s not to love about a woman who seems to party all night and come out the other end looking fabulous?”
New York’s fashion glitterati flocked to the store for a sneak preview, before moving on to a roof garden party at the Gramercy Park Hotel.
On Monday night, mother-of-one Kate, who is engaged to British rocker Pete Doherty, attended the annual Costume Institute gala benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where the late French designer Paul Poiret was honoured.
Actresses Cameron Diaz, Vanessa Redgrave and Lindsay Lohan and fellow supermodel Naomi Campbell were also in attendance at the star-studded event.
